The Office of Research and Development oversees the management of cross branch initiatives to drive strategic priorities of the department.  The office addresses the horizontal integration of DPH assets and manages the research, development and implementation of new agency-wide initiatives.  Programs are conceptualized, resourced and put into operation by bringing together internal and external subject matter experts.  The current programmatic areas of focus and responsibility include: Genomics and Public Health, Health Care Quality Improvement, Indoor Air Asbestos Exposure, Stem Cell Research, Stroke Prevention and Cardiovascular Health, and Workplace Wellness.
