GOVERNOR LAMONT ANNOUNCES CT APPROVED FOR FEDERAL AG DISASTER DECLARATION DUE TO TROPICAL STORM ELSA
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has received notice from U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack that his request has been approved for Connecticut to receive an agriculture disaster declaration as a result of damages caused by Tropical Storm Elsa in early July.

(HARTFORD, CT) – The Connecticut Department of Agriculture (DoAg) announces that 2021 Farm-to-Chef Week will run from Sunday, August 29 through Saturday, September 4. This special week encourages culinary professionals to use Connecticut Grown ingredients in new ways on their menus while educating residents and visitors about the diversity of farm products grown and raised in Connecticut.

Connecticut Department of Agriculture Urges Farmers to Report Crop Damage or Loss from Tropical Storm Elsa to USDA Farm Service Agency
The Connecticut Department of Agriculture is encouraging farmers and agricultural producers who may have experienced crop damage or loss due to Tropical Storm Elsa to declare a loss to their United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) county office. Crop losses can be modified after the initial reporting as necessary

Connecticut Department of Agriculture Awards $497,000 to Farm Transition Grant Applicants
Agriculture Commissioner Bryan P. Hurlburt announces that the Connecticut Department of Agriculture has awarded 24 grants from the Farm Transition Grant (FTG) program, totaling $497,382 to strengthen the economic viability of Connecticut farmers and agricultural cooperatives seeking to expand, diversify, and improve their existing operation.
