Medical Marijuana Program

The Medical Marijuana Program helps registered patients under the care of a licensed health practitioner safely access medical marijuana products as well as adult-use cannabis products.

Qualifying patients who register with the Medical Marijuana Program have many benefits including:

  • Cost savings with tax-free purchases
  • More purchasing power with the ability to buy up to 5 ounces of cannabis
  • Priority entry at hybrid retailer establishments
  • Greater variety in product types and potencies

There is no fee for medical marijuana patients and their caregivers to register with the Department.

Patients

Qualifying patients who register with the Medical Marijuana Program have access to different types of products, higher potency and the ability to purchase more cannabis than someone who is not registered. Program participants also have the benefit of tax-free products when purchased from a dispensary facility or hybrid retailer. There is no fee for medical marijuana patients and their caregivers to register with the Department.

Prescribers

Physicians, physician assistants or advanced practice registered nurses are the gatekeepers to the medical marijuana registration system. No patient or caregiver can log in to the system until a physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse initiates their application.
