• Attorney General Files Agreement to Revoke Pension of Former Waterbury Library Clerk

  Under an agreement filed in Hartford Superior Court this week, a former library clerk for the city of Waterbury who pleaded guilty to a felony larceny charge for embezzling more than $200,000 from a city library will have her pension revoked, Attorney General George Jepsen said today.

• AG Jepsen, Adobe Reach Agreement Resolving Connecticut-Led Multistate Investigation into Unauthorized Access to Servers

  Attorney General George Jepsen joined 14 other state attorneys general today in announcing a $1 million data breach settlement with the software and technology company Adobe Systems, Inc. The settlement resolves an investigation into the 2013 breach of certain Adobe servers, including servers containing the personal information of approximately 552,000 residents of the participating states.

• Attorney General Seeks Restitution For Alleged Illegal Billing by Dentist and Dental Practice

  Attorney General George Jepsen is seeking restitution from a Winsted dentist and his practice for allegedly violating the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act by illegally billing the Connecticut Medical Assistance Program from April 2002 through October 2009.

• Officials Offer Fireworks Reminders for a Safe Independence Day Holiday

  The Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Consumer Protection are reminding consumers today, in advance of the Independence Day holiday, that Connecticut law prohibits the sale, possession or use of fireworks without a permit.

• AG Jepsen, Consumer Counsel Katz Reach Agreement with Frontier over AT&T Acquisitions in Connecticut

  Attorney General George Jepsen and Consumer Counsel Elin Swanson Katz today announced that the state has reached a settlement agreement with Frontier Communications Corporation in connection with its acquisition of AT&T's phone, broadband Internet and television services in Connecticut.

  Consumers in Connecticut will begin receiving account credits or checks this week through the partial settlement of an eBook price-fixing lawsuit brought in 2012 by Attorney General George Jepsen and attorneys general from 32 other states.

  To assist business owners in complying with a new computerized data breach notification requirement that takes effect on October 1, Attorney General George Jepsen announced today that the OAG has established a dedicated email for companies to use when they report a breach.

• National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, September 29

  Attorney General George Jepsen today joined the DEA, the state Departments of Consumer Protection and of Emergency Services and Public Protection, and the Governor’s Prevention Partnership in detailing the state’s growing prescription drug problem and encouraging state residents to take part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day by visiting a nearby collection site.

• AG Jepsen Announces Settlement with GlaxoSmithKline

  Attorney General George Jepsen is announcing that Connecticut has joined with 44 other state and territorial attorneys general in a settlement with GlaxoSmithKline, LLC to resolve allegations of unlawful promotion of the asthma drug, Advair, and antidepressants Paxil and Wellbutrin.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, and Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that – as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to combat the misuse of opioids – 80,000 drug deactivation kits capable of safely disposing unused prescription medications have been donated to the State of Connecticut and are now available free-of-charge to residents at over 600 pharmacies throughout the state. The biodegradable Deterra drug disposal kits were donated by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and can deactivate and destroy up to 45 pills each simply by adding warm tap water and then disposing the kit in the trash.

• National Mortgage Foreclosure Settlement Providing Relief to Connecticut Borrowers

  Attorney General George Jepsen said today that an interim progress report shows Connecticut borrowers getting real relief in the first months of the $25 billion national mortgage foreclosure settlement.
