Average Weekly Wage, Maximum Compensation Rate, and Cost-of-Living Adjustments
New average weekly earnings of all employees in Connecticut, average weekly earnings of production and related workers in manufacturing in Connecticut, weekly benefit rates, and COLAs effective October 1st each year.

Benefit Rate Tables

New workers' compensation benefit rate tables are issued October 1st each year.

Burial Expense Adjustments

Pursuant to Special Session Public Act No. 21-2, the compensation payable for burial expenses associated with death resulting from an accident arising out of and in the course of employment or from an occupational disease is adjusted annually based on the consumer price index for urban wage earners and clerical workers (CPI-W) in the northeast, with no seasonal adjustment, as calculated by the United States Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Calculating Weekly Benefit Amounts without FICA and/or Medicare Deductions

New "short cut" equations for manually determining weekly benefit amounts, when FICA and/or Medicare deductions do not apply, effective October 1st every year.

Mileage Reimbursement Rates

Amount payable, per mile, for all workers' compensation claimants who use their private motor vehicles to travel to medical appointments necessitated by their work-related injuries. This rate changes annually - usually around the first of the new year - and applies to all claimants, regardless of injury date, and now coincides with the federal mileage reimbursement rate.
