Certification Requirements: Elementary Montessori (511) and Primary Montessori (512)
1) A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
2) An AMI Montessori Diploma (AMS not accepted)
3) An approved three-credit course of study in special education including gifted and talented
4) Six semester hours of college credit in reading
AND
5) For Elementary Montessori, 1-6 (511): Three semester hours of credit in math instruction
OR
5) For Primary Montessori, Birth-K (512): Three semester hours of credit in Model Programs for Early Childhood Education
