To engage in a collaborative, consensus based process to modernize and align Connecticut's educator certification processes with the challenges of the moment so that Connecticut can continue to attract and retain the highest quality professionals for employment in all of our public schools.

  • The Council will brainstorm our own sense of these issues, gather information from constituents, process it, and ultimately prioritize it so that these most critical beliefs/design principles and impacts can serve as the primary foundation that will guide the rest of the Council’s deliberations and decisions.

    • Framing the characteristics of a state-level board
      • Confirming the board type (advisory with oomph)
      • Defining scope of responsibilities

      • Operational structures
    • Codifying a set of streamlined and flexible pathways to certification
    • Strengthen pathway quality by building on existing processes and tools
