Overview of the Connecticut Alternate Science (CTAS) AssessmentStudents with significant cognitive disabilities are identified for participation in the Alternate Assessment System when the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) determines the student meets eligibility criteria using the Connecticut Alternate Assessment System Eligibility Form, embedded within the Connecticut Special Education Data System (CT-SEDS). Trained teachers administer the Alternate Assessments individually to eligible students throughout the school year and submit student scores using the Data Entry Interface between March 24-May 30, 2025.
Eligible students in Grades 5, 8 and 11 participate in the Connecticut Alternate Science (CTAS) Assessment.

- Connecticut Alternate Science (CTAS) Assessment Test Administration Manual - The purpose of the Test Administration Manual (TAM) is to guide Teachers Administering the Alternate (TEAs) and District/School Test Coordinators (DC/SC) to prepare for and administer the Connecticut Alternate Science (CTAS) Assessment to eligible students with significant cognitive disabilities who were determined by a Planning and Placement Team (PPT) to meet the criteria for an alternate assessment.
