These resources should also help enhance inquiry instruction in Social Studies and connect students to culturally responsive materials.

Purpose: The purpose of the grant is to fund community-learning centers that provide students with academic, enrichment, recreational, and social and emotional support opportunities outside of regular school hours and to consistently serve the same students over a prolonged period. Centers, which can be in elementary or secondary schools or other similarly accessible facilities, provide a range of high-quality services to support student learning and development. Centers should be designed to support families by offering them educational development opportunities and providing a safe environment for students when school is not in session.

21st CCLC Virtual Bidder's Webinar

The bidders conference will provide information on the major components and criteria for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Request for Proposal (RFP).

Eligible applicants include local educational agencies, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, other public or private organizations, a consortium of two or more agencies that may include but are not limited to local and regional boards of education, Regional Education Service Centers applying on behalf of local education agencies, charter and magnet schools.

21st CCLC Grant Programs must be designed to serve students attending schools with a high concentration of low-income students, where at least 40 percent of the children served lunch are eligible for free or reduced-price meals.

Attendance is not mandatory, and the bidder’s conference will be recorded.
