Teacher Negotiations
The 2026-2027 Listing of Negotiations chart linked below lists those collective bargaining units negotiating with boards of education under the provisions of Section 10-153a et seq. of the Connecticut General Statutes. The information contained on the chart is subject to change.
The categories are as follows:
- Board means the local of regional board of education.
- Unit means either the
- Administrator (A) unit
- Teacher (T) unit
- Start Date means the statutory date upon which negotiations are to commence, i.e., the 210th day prior to the budget submission.
- Mediation Date means the statutory date upon which the parties must enter the mediation process, i.e., the 160th day prior to budget submission.
- Arbitration Date means the date when the parties must name their respective party arbitrators. The arbitrators are listed under "Board Arbitrator," "Union Arbitrator" and "Neutral Arbitrator."
- Method means the manner by which the contract negotiations were settled, i.e.,
- Negotiation (N),
- Mediation (M),
- Arbitration (A), or
- Stipulated Arbitration (AS)
***Note: Often reported settlements are subject to ratification and thus should be considered tentative.
- Reported means the date the Division of Legal and Governmental Affairs was notified of the settlement.
- Budget Date means the local or regional board of education budget submission date. This date is provided by the Superintendent of Schools in each school district on the ED003 form.
- 2d Panel means a panel of three neutral arbitrators.
- Double Asterisks [**] means Panel Chairperson.
- An Asterisk [*] means that the arbitrator or mediator was appointed by the Commissioner of Education.
