Connecticut's Approved K-3 Reading Curriculum Models or Programs
The Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success offers the following research-based resources to support districts as they select, pilot, and implement a Connecticut-approved K-3 reading program, model, or compendium. The following K–3 curriculum models, programs, and compendiums are approved for use by Connecticut districts until June 30, 2027.

Please note: Schoolwide, Inc. – Fundamentals of Reading, Writing, Grammar, Content Literacy, and Foundational Skills is under review. While it scored in the Meets Expectations range on the 25 indicators, it has not been reviewed by any other credible and comprehensive literacy review process.
On May 26, 2023, the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) announced the ARPA-Right to Read Grant which deploys $20 million in the CSDE’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to local and regional boards of education during fiscal year (FY) 2023 and FY 2024 for the purpose of supporting scientifically based, evidence-based literacy teaching and learning in grades Kindergarten through third (K-3).
