The Treasurer, as the chief elected financial officer for the State, oversees the management of State funds – money coming in and out of the State, bond sales, retiree pensions, college savings programs, and a first in the nation Baby Bonds program. Under Treasurer Russell’s leadership, the Office of the Treasurer is dedicated to safeguarding the state’s financial resources and taxpayer’s dollars, while maximizing returns, minimizing risks, and operating under the highest professional and ethical standards.
An internship with the Treasurer’s Office provides a unique opportunity to acquire specialized experience with one or more of its divisions and units, including: Business Services; Cash Management; Communications; Debt Management; External Relations; Information Technology; Legislation; Pension Funds Management; Policy; Second Injury Fund; and Unclaimed Property.
Working closely with the Office of the Treasurer staff and under the supervision of Assistant Treasurers, managers, or other senior personnel, interns will acquire valuable knowledge concerning the primary functions of each operating division.
