How do I get a student transcript or student records from a closed career school?
The Office of Higher Education has student transcripts and records from certain private career schools that have closed. In most instances, we do not have transcripts from closed colleges or universities, high schools (public, vocational-technical) or Adult ED and GEDs. Please view this page for more information.
For closed private career schools in Connecticut:
If the school was taken over by another school that is still open:
- Contact that school.
If the school was NOT taken over by a school that’s still open:
Please note the following:
- Transcripts and student records can be provided electronically to the student and by mail to other entities such as schools, employers, etc.
- Transcript requests take up to 6 weeks. If we haven’t contacted you by the end of 6 weeks, please email us. Please plan accordingly with your request.
- If you have already received confirmation that your request was submitted, please do not resubmit an identical request. Duplicate requests may take a longer time to fulfill.
- OHE does not have all student records and transcripts from closed private career schools. It may be possible that your record is missing or incomplete. OHE can only provide the records that were collected from the closed school.
- OHE is unable to complete nursing boards attestation forms that are required to be completed by a nursing program administrator or other school official. OHE can provide a letter confirming the details of the nursing program from a closed private career school to the nursing board.
