Governor Susan Bysiewicz today told top executives of Netflix, Disney, and AMC that Connecticut is a perfect location for them to conduct business, following recent announcements from all three companies that they are considering pulling the production of their respective movies and television shows out of Georgia after that state passed one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation.

Lt. Gov. Bysiewicz Launches Connecticut Complete Count Committee to Help Prepare for 2020 Census
Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz today announced the launch of the Connecticut Complete Count Committee (CCCC) to inform and help direct the State's efforts in the upcoming 2020 Census. The Connecticut Complete Count Committee is an advisory panel of community leaders who represent diverse populations from across the state including elected officials, faith leaders, community health centers, chambers of commerce, community activists and heads of housing authorities. The members will work to analyze previous census undercounts and recommend strategies to ensure a full count in Connecticut.

LT. GOVERNOR BYSIEWICZ LAUNCHES COVID-19 CODING COMPUTING CHALLENGE FOR 3-12 GRADERS
(HARTFORD, CT) - Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, joined by OPM Secretary Melissa McCaw, Education Commissioner Miguel Cardona, Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Sibongile Magubane, and Department of Higher Ed Executive Director Tim Larson, today announced the launch of the “Lt. Governor’s COVID-19 Computing Challenge: A statewide challenge to address a global concern.” Connecticut students in grades 3 through 12 are challenged to work individually or as a team to propose an idea for a computing technology application (functioning apps are not required). The idea for the coding challenge was inspired by the work of the Council on Women and Girls Education and STEAM Subcommittee in partnership with its Steering Committee community partners.

Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz has been named the Statewide Chair of the Connecticut State Employees Campaign for Charitable Giving (CSEC). Today, she joined the Statewide Campaign Committee to kick off the 2019 campaign at the State Capitol.
