• Friday: Gov. Malloy Participates in Hammonasset Beach Groundbreaking; Tours Attractions on the Shoreline

  On Friday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the start of major improvements at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, including a new Meigs Point Nature Center and improvements to West Beach, which was damaged by recent severe storms.  He will be joined by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Rob Klee, Department of Administrative Services Commissioner Melody Currey, First Selectman Fillmore McPherson, park advocates, and other state and local officials.

• Gov. Malloy Announces $1.6 Million for Pre-K Classrooms in Twelve School Districts

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission is anticipated to approve nearly $1.6 million in grants at its meeting on Monday that will be used to improve and upgrade early childhood education classrooms across the state.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut is making it "cheaper" to purchase or lease an electric vehicle as a result of the Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate Program (CHEAPR).

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that an election to fill a vacancy for Judge of Probate for the Hartford Probate District will be held during the next general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has been awarded a $7 million federal grant to improve access to care for people seeking drug and alcohol treatment in the state.

• Gov. Malloy Reminds Residents that Atlantic Hurricane Season Begins June 1

  With the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season beginning June 1, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today is reminding Connecticut residents to be prepared for any severe weather that may impact the state.  The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with the principal threat period for Connecticut occurring between mid-August and mid-October.

• Gov. Malloy, State Officials Urge Connecticut Residents to Check Vehicles for Possible Airbag Recall

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) are urging residents to seek information regarding the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's recall - affecting nearly 34 million vehicles made by at least 11 companies - because of Takata-made airbags.

• Monday: Gov. Malloy Chairs Bond Commission Meeting

  On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will chair a meeting of the State Bond Commission, which will be immediately followed by a media availability.  Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will also attend.

• Today at 2:45pm: Gov. Malloy Holds News Conference on Airbag Recall

  Today at 2:45 p.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jonathan A. Harris, and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Andres Ayala will hold a news conference to provide Connecticut residents with information regarding yesterday's announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that nearly 34 million vehicles made by 11 companies are being recalled for replacement of faulty Takata-made airbags.

  On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make brief remarks at the MetroHartford Alliance's Rising Star Breakfast, which is taking place in Cromwell as part of the 2015 Travelers Championship Media Day.

• Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Discusses Conn. Insurance Industry at Global Insurance Symposium

  On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will discuss Connecticut's insurance industry during the opening keynote address at the Global Insurance Symposium in Des Moines, Iowa.  He will return to Connecticut following his remarks.

• Gov. Malloy Announces CTFastrak Surpasses 150,000 Rides After Only Five Weeks of Service

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that more than 150,000 rides have been taken on the CTfastrak Bus Rapid Transit system in the five weeks since operations began on March 28.  Ridership has grown to more than 7,000 riders per day on the bus-only roadway. This is in addition to the 7,000 daily riders that use existing CTtransit bus routes in the corridor.

• Gov. Malloy: Full-Day Kindergarten Will Move Our State into the Future

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Commissioner of Education Dianna R. Wentzell today visited classrooms in Bristol and Southington, highlighting the importance and benefits of full-day kindergarten for Connecticut's five-year-old learners, approximately 2,000 of whom do not have access to full day instruction - or roughly 5.5 percent.
