Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is sponsoring legislation designed to protect the victims of domestic violence by prohibiting possession of firearms for anyone who becomes subject to a temporary restraining order, eliminating a critical window of time during which time a victim's life could be at risk.

Gov. Malloy Announces New Haven Line Sets All-Time Ridership Record

Malloy today announced that ridership on the New Haven commuter rail line for 2015 surpassed 40.3 million passenger trips - up two percent from the prior year and setting an all-time record, according to newly released data from Metro-North Railroad. The New Haven Line is the busiest commuter rail line in America.

Gov. Malloy Announces Funding for Local Transportation Maintenance and State Road Paving
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the release of the second of two $30 million installments of Town Aid Road funding for cities and towns across Connecticut - a total of $60 million statewide. The funding continues an increased amount for municipal purposes, which prior to the Malloy administration had received lower amounts ranging from $12.5 million to $30 million. In addition, an allocation of $68.9 million has also been approved to cover the costs associated with resurfacing state roadways this year.

Gov. Malloy Renews Calls to Constitutionally Protect Transportation Funds
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined a group of transportation advocates and state and local officials at the site of the train station located in downtown Meriden, where he renewed his calls to adopt a constitutional amendment to protect revenue that goes into the Special Transportation Fund. That amendment would ensure that once funds become a dedicated investment by going into the fund, that they can never be removed.

Gov. Malloy Announces $17.5 Million in Funds for Upgrades to Improve Service on the Danbury Branch Line
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that an allocation of $17.5 million in state funding for the design, engineering, and construction of a new rail yard on the Metro-North Railroad Danbury Branch Line in Norwalk was approved at today's meeting of the State Bond Commission. The funding comes under the Governor's "Let's Go CT!" initiative, which is making unprecedented investments to upgrade and modernize the state's transportation system.
