New Report Outlines Eight Years of Policy Under Malloy-Wyman Administration

(HARTFORD, CT) – As Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman are nearing the end of their second terms in office and a new gubernatorial team prepares to take over, the outgoing administration released a comprehensive report and accompanying website today summarizing eight years of public policy during their time in office and identifying areas where continued focus and future work is still needed.

The 300-page report and website, The Malloy-Wyman Record: A Review Across Five Areas of Policy, documents how the Malloy-Wyman administration grappled with the unique challenges of their time. It presents an overview of major state policy work divided into five areas: economic development, long-term fiscal health, criminal justice reform, equitable communities, and social progress.

It can be read online by visiting portal.ct.gov/MalloyWymanRecord.

In an introductory letter to the report, Governor Malloy wrote, “At the end of my second term as Governor, and as a new governor and a new administration readies to take over, I am more optimistic than ever about the future of our great state. Connecticut is a small state with a big heart, and I am confident that by continuing to work together, Connecticut will become an even better place to call home.”

Lt. Governor Wyman said, “I am proud of the accomplishments of our administration these past eight years, and I want to thank the citizens of this great state for the opportunity to be a part of Connecticut history. We faced many unexpected highs and lows during our tenure, but we were able to come together for Connecticut’s best interests. I hope that this comprehensive reports reveals this administration’s policy achievements and that it helps guide the next administration to continued success.”

After Governor Malloy leaves office, his entire state website, including this report, will be archived and remain available online in perpetuity under the auspices of the Connecticut State Library for historical purposes – similar to what had been done under the prior administration.

Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Wyman’s final day in office is January 9, 2019.
