Gov. Malloy Advances Commitment to Storm Resiliency With Funding for New Microgrids
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut’s innovative and successful microgrid program will take another major step forward when the State Bond Commission meets Tuesday and is expected approve $30 million in funding for new projects that will strengthen the state’s resiliency against future weather events.

Gov. Malloy and Congressional Delegation Applaud Federal Funding to Help Homeless Veterans find Permanent Homes
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, and the members of Connecticut’s Congressional delegation are applauding an announcement made today by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that local public housing agencies in Connecticut will receive $264,272 to help provide permanent homes to veterans experiencing homelessness. The supportive housing assistance announced today is provided through the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program which combines rental assistance from HUD with case management and clinical services provided by VA.

Gov. Malloy Announces 'Q Bridge' to be Lit Red, White, and Blue for Veterans Day
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven - informally known as the Q Bridge - will be lit red, white, and blue on the nights of Thursday, November 10, and Friday, November 11, in observation of Veterans Day. Beacons capable of projecting light nearly six miles into the clear night sky will be lit until 1:00 a.m. during those nights.

Gov. Malloy Announces Launch of New State Initiative Targeted at Combating Youth Homelessness
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) Commissioner Evonne M. Klein today announced that the State of Connecticut is launching a new, first-of-its-kind initiative that will focus on building supportive housing for youths between the ages of 18 to 24 who are homeless. November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month and this funding comes at a time when Connecticut is focusing its efforts on expanding access to affordable housing opportunities for everyone.

Gov. Malloy: AQR Capital Management to Expand, Add Up to 600 New Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that AQR Capital Management, a global investment management firm, plans to expand its headquarters and operations in Connecticut over the next ten years - a more than $72 million project that will retain 540 jobs, create up to 600 new jobs, and significantly increase the firm's economic impact in the state.

Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation That Will Keep Sikorsky's Headquarters and Thousands of Jobs in the State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today held a ceremonial bill signing to commemorate the adoption of legislation that approves the state's agreement with Lockheed Martin and will result in keeping Sikorsky Aircraft's worldwide headquarters located in Stratford through at least 2032, where the company will retain and grow approximately 8,000 direct jobs. As part of the agreement, Sikorsky has also pledged to nearly double its spending of $350 million per year among in-state suppliers.

Gov. Malloy Announces New Platform Opening at Branford Station on Shore Line East
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Connecticut Department of Transportation Commission James P. Redeker and other state and local officials today marked the completion of a new platform at the Branford railroad station on Shore Line East - the commuter rail line between New Haven and New London. Trains are scheduled to begin utilizing the new platform on Saturday, November 5.

Gov. Malloy: After State's First-Ever Drought Watch Issued, Residents Asked to Voluntarily Reduce Water Use When Possible
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that in response to the decision made by the Connecticut Interagency Drought Workgroup to issue the state's first-ever Drought Watch, he is advising residents to be mindful of their water consumption and to limit unnecessary water usage when possible.
