Governor Lamont Announces Funding To Establish New State Program Helping To Make Energy Efficiency Upgrades at Existing Homes
Governor Ned Lamont, chairman of the State Bond Commission, today announced that the commission voted at its meeting this morning to approve an allocation of $18 million in bond funding that will be used to establish the Housing Environmental Improvement Revolving Loan and Grant Fund - a new state loan and grant program that will assist in making energy efficiency upgrades at existing single-family and multi-family homes and helping residents generate savings on energy bills.

Governor Lamont Submits Plan To Tap Into Emergency State Response Reserve To Maintain Affordability for Connecticut Residents
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration has submitted a plan to the bipartisan leadership of the Connecticut General Assembly to tap into the recently created Emergency State Response Reserve in response to recent federal funding delays and reductions that have been made by the Trump administration and Congressional Republicans to essential health and human services supports that the residents of Connecticut depend on for some of their most basic needs.

Governor Lamont Announces State Grants To Assess and Remediate 16 Blighted Properties for Redevelopment
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that his administration is releasing $28.2 million in state grants that will be used to support the remediation and assessment of 16 blighted properties, helping to bring more than 200 acres of land in 13 towns and cities back into productive use so they can be redeveloped and support the state's economic growth, including through hundreds of new housing units.

Governor Lamont Announces Additional 40,000 Connecticut Residents To Have Medical Debt Erased
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that nearly 40,000 Connecticut residents will receive letters in the mail this week informing them that some or all of their medical debt has been erased under an initiative the Lamont administration launched last year in partnership with the national nonprofit organization Undue Medical Debt to give relief to those who are having difficulties paying medical bills.

Governor Lamont Activates Connecticut’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol Sunday and Monday
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is activating Connecticut's Severe Cold Weather Protocol beginning at noon on Sunday, December 14, 2025, and remaining in effect until noon on Monday, December 15, 2025, due to a blast of arctic air that will impact the state, including windchill temperatures during the overnight hours that are expected to be at or below zero.

Governor Lamont Directs Flags To Half-Staff Sunday for the Anniversary of the Tragedy in Sandy Hook
Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is directing U.S. and Connecticut flags lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in remembrance of the twenty children and six adults who were killed thirteen years ago in the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.

Governor Lamont Announces Connecticut Joins Multistate Licensure Compact Allowing Nurses To Practice in 43 Participating States and Territories
Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Department of Public Health Commissioner Manisha Juthani, MD, today announced that Connecticut has joined the Nurse Licensure Compact - an agreement among 43 U.S. states and territories that allows Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to obtain one multistate license permitting them to legally practice nursing in all participating locations.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to a weather forecast indicating that Connecticut will experience a blast of arctic temperatures averaging 10 to 20 degrees below normal over the next several days, he is directing the state's Severe Cold Weather Protocol to be activated effective at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, and remaining in effect through 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
