Governor Ned Lamont is announcing Connecticut’s continued momentum following a successful debt refinancing through the Office of the State Treasurer Friday. Connecticut was able to refinance debt at one of the lowest relative interest rates the state has seen in years.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that, as part of his ongoing efforts to streamline the services state government provides and create efficiencies for Connecticut residents, he is forming a task force that will be responsible for providing his administration with a coordinated response in support of those who are facing homelessness and in need of other forms of assistance.

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that based on actions made by the chair of the Connecticut Port Authority that he believes were inappropriate and unacceptable given the importance of this board, he has called for the resignation of board chair Bonnie Reemsnyder. At today’s board meeting, Reemsnyder submitted her resignation.

In response to discussions his administration has had with the police chiefs of Bridgeport, Hartford, and New Haven regarding a recent, summertime increase in urban gun violence, Governor Ned Lamont today announced that the state is releasing an extra $25,000 to each city that will help pay for the short-term costs of adding local police patrols above their normal staffing levels that will be specifically focused on curbing violence.
