Veterans License Plates

Connecticut offers two types of Veteran license plates, Standard Veteran and Campaign Specific 

  1. Eligibility

    • Standard Veteran
       
      • Meet the standard definition of a Veteran under CGS Sec. 27-103(a)2: “Any person honorably discharged from, released under honorable conditions from or released with an other than honorable discharge based on a qualifying condition from active service in the armed forces."

    • Campaign Specific: Both of the following must be true:
       
      • Meet the standard definition of a Veteran under CGS Sec. 27-103(a)2: “Any person honorably discharged from, released under honorable conditions from or released with an other than honorable discharge based on a qualifying condition from active service in the armed forces."

      • Must have actually served in the designated theater of conflict as indicated by the award of the appropriate Campaign Medal.

    • Get Vanity and Special Plates

      • The Veteran Plate Program is administered by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, Customized Plates Unit, 60 State Street Wethersfield, CT 06161

      • Campaign specific plates are currently available for the following campaigns: World War II Veteran, Korean War Veteran, Vietnam War Veteran, Lebanon Veteran, Grenada Veteran, Operation Earnest Will Veteran, Panama Veteran, Persian Gulf War Veteran, Afghanistan War Veteran, Iraq War Veteran

      • There is a fee associated with the Veteran Plate Program
