The Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) Unit is a law enforcement unit within the Department that is specifically charged with enforcing Connecticut's statutes relating to cigarettes and other tobacco products. Through its enforcement efforts, an in consultation with the Office of the Attorney General, the MSA Unit is helping the State of Connecticut meet its obligations under the terms of the Master Settlement Agreement. The unit currently consists of 5 sworn officers with full police powers, a forensic fraud examiner, and a revenue examiner 3. |
