Public Swimming Pools

The Environmental Engineering Program (EEP)’s mission is to ensure that public pools in Connecticut are built in a safe and sanitary manner.

We do this by:

  • Reviewing and approving construction design plans for public pools.

  • Inspecting pools prior to public use to verify they are built according to approved plans.

  • Helping applicants use pool forms and application documents.

  • Reviewing and approving equipment change requests for existing pools.

Please note: Review times for applications for new swimming pools can take up to 120 working days from the time of a complete submittal.
