- From 2017-2021, 38,575 Connecticut residents died from breast, cervical, colorectal and lung cancer.
- About 280,000 people in Connecticut are not receiving all of the health care they need because they do not have proper health insurance or the means to pay health insurance premiums.
The Connecticut Early Detection and Prevention Program (CEDPP) serves about 6,000 Connecticut residents every year. We have helped around 85,000 people visit doctors, get mammograms, pap tests, HPV tests, cardiovascular screenings, diagnostic colonoscopies and more.

More About the Connecticut Early Detection and Prevention Program (CEDPP)
The Connecticut Early Detection and Prevention Program (CEDPP) consists of the:
- Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (CBCCEDP),
- Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation (WISEWOMAN),
- Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CCRCCP),
- Lung Cancer Program,
- Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP), and
- Men's Health Program

Connecticut Early Detection and Prevention Program (CEDPP) Eligibility Requirements
Who Can Enroll?
You are eligible for program services if:
- You are at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level – See chart below.
- You have no health insurance* OR
- You have health insurance that excludes these routine services OR
- You have a high insurance deductible of $1,000 or more.
- You are 40-64 years old and have, or have had, breasts for breast cancer services.
- You are 21-39 years old and are at high risk and/or symptomatic.
- You are 21-64 years old and have, or have had, a cervix for cervical cancer services.
*Women 65+ who are not enrolled in Medicare Part B may be eligible to receive CBCCEDP services.
- You are a woman, 35-64 years old for cardiovascular/heart disease prevention services
- and enrolled in the CT Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection and Prevention Program.
- You are 45-75 years old and received a positive test result from a colorectal cancer screening for colorectal cancer services.
- You are 50-80 years old, have a 20 pack-year or more smoking history, and smoke now or have quit within the past 15 years for lung cancer services.
- You are 18 years old or older for men’s health services.
