Services Offered
The Mobile Response Team (MRT) is a community crisis evaluation and intervention service which is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. MRT has the ability to offer services to a client in need at home, in a local emergency room, on a city street, or in jail. MRT is the sole screening point for
Respite is an eight bed short-term residential service for individuals who are undergoing severe psychological distress, but who do not require an inpatient level of care.
Community Support Program (CSP) provides clinical and case management services, psychiatry, psychotherapy, group and family services, supported employment, and money management for clients who need comprehensive services. Case management services are provided in a non-office setting. Services are focused on skill building. Treatment interventions are individualized to meet the needs and preferences of the individual.
Lower County Clinical Team (LCCT) located in Old Saybrook, provides clinical and case management services, psychiatry, psychotherapy, group and family services, supported employment, and money management for individuals from shoreline communities who need comprehensive services. Case management services are provided in a non-office setting. Services are focused on skill building. Treatment interventions are individualized to meet the needs and preferences of the individual.
Young Adult Services (YAS) provides developmentally appropriate, trauma informed clinical and case management services to young adults aged 18 to 25 years. Services are provided on a multidisciplinary treatment team which includes individual and group therapy, family treatment, case management, psychosocial skill development and rehabilitative services. A component of YAS, the Community Living Service provides services to young adults in supervised and supported apartments.
Assertive Community Services (ACT) provides services to individuals struggling with serious behavioral health and substance abuse issues that often interfere with connecting and following through with treatment. ACT is an evidence based practice that uses a multidisciplinary team treatment approach to deliver highly responsive, individualized recovery based services in an individuals in the community and home.
Transitional Residential Program (TRP) is a residential program that provides 24/7 staffing and intense support services to 10 residents. The program serves individuals who are transitioning out of long term hospitalization or incarceration and are in need additional supports before transition into their community placements. Referrals for TRP come directly from DMHAS Office of the Medical Director.
Admission and Liaison Services provides screening and comprehensive intake assessments to individuals seeking mental health and substance abuse service. Individuals needing services will be referred to appropriate DMHAS funded services. The Hospital Liaison staff collaborates with inpatient units and community providers towards a safe and clinically appropriate discharge plan. The community liaison staff engage Individuals in the community who are in need of services but may not seek help in traditional ways. The Intake Clinician can be reached by calling 860 262-5223.
Jail Diversion is a collaboration between the Middlesex Superior Court-G.A. 9 and River Valley services. The goal of the Jail Diversion program is to identify and facilitate clinical alternatives to incarceration for defendants with mental health and substance use disorders.
Veterans Jail Diversion and Trauma Recovery Program (VJDTRP) serves individuals in courts around the state by providing assistance to individuals who formally or who are currently serving in the armed forces, regardless of their discharge or veteran status. The goal of VJDTRP is to identify veterans and facilitate clinical alternatives to incarceration. The VJDTRP clinician may provide brief therapy and case management services to support individuals who may not meet criteria for other clinical services
ASIST is a collaboration between the Judicial Branch Court Support Service Division (CSSD), the Department of Corrections and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Referrals are made by the court, probation or parole and the individual must have some form of legal leverage. The programs’ goal is to reduce recidivism and provide alternatives to incarceration. Asist is often used as a final intervention when the client has been unsuccessful at lower levels.
Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a program that is held in collaboration with the Middletown Police Department (MPD). A licensed clinician is embedded in the MPD and will respond with police to mental health and substance abuse crisis situations in the community. Clinician will provide mental health evaluations, recommendations, referrals emergency case management and follow up.
Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard of Hearing Services:
RVS is committed to providing a full array of Clinical Services to clients and offer equal access to recovery-oriented, person-centered, culturally appropriate and linguistically accessible mental health and substance use services through an interpreter to people who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard of Hearing at no cost.
Behavioral Health Home (BHH) focuses on the integration of primary care into mental health services. BHH is embedded in RVS service delivery to support individuals coordinate care and services while reaching their health and wellness goals. Services include comprehensive care management and health promotion.
