Join us at America Legion State Forest in Barkhamsted for a day of hiking and exploring! We will be spending the day hiking the trails at both American Legion and People’s State Forest along with a visit to the People’s Stone Museum. Hiking will begin at 1:00 pm and we will be leaving from the Youth Group camping area.
Join us for a canoe trip on the Farmington River! The SoJourn team will be starting at the Pinchot Tree in Simsbury and ending in Farmington, at the boat launch off of Rt. 4. We will be meeting at the Pinchot Tree at 8:00 am and it will be a 9.5 mile paddle “up” the Farmington River. If you would like to join us this day you will need to bring your own canoe or kayak, along with a life preserver.
Join us for a bike ride from Lock 12 Historic Park in Cheshire to Miller’s Pond State Park in Durham. Please bring your own bike and helmet. The SoJourn team will be departing from Lock 12 at 8:00 am to bike approximately 22 miles to Miller’s Pond State Park. When the group arrives at Miller’s Pond State Park we will have canoes available for boating around the pond.
Join us for a bike ride from Miller’s Pond State Park in Durham to the Connecticut River Museum in Essex. Please bring your own bike and helmet. The SoJourn team will be departing from Miller’s Pond at 8:00 am to bike approximately 25 miles to the Connecticut River Museum. Stay and enjoy the shops and restaurants on Main Street.
Join us for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River! The SoJourn team will be starting at the boat launch at the Connecticut River Museum in Essex and ending at Great Island boat launch in Old Lyme. We will begin the canoe trip at 1:00 pm and it will be a 5.5 mile paddle down the Connecticut River. If you would like to join us that day you will need to bring your own canoe or kayak, along with a life preserver.
Join us for a bike ride from Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme to Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford. Please bring your own bike and helmet. The SoJourn team will be departing from Rocky Neck at 8:00 am to bike approximately 9.5 miles to Harkness. The bike ride will be a short one but once at Harkness you will be able to enjoy the beautiful views of Long Island Sound.
