The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has received a request pursuant to section 307(c)(1) of the Coastal Zone Management Act to review proposed activities for consistency with enforceable policies of Connecticut’s federally approved Coastal Management Program contained in sections 22a-92 to 22a-112 of the Connecticut General Statutes to maintain the Bridgeport and Black Rock Harbors Federal Navigation Projects. An additional review and public comment notice period will be forthcoming under a subsequent 401 Water Quality Certification application.

The proposed activity includes maintenance dredging Bridgeport Harbor and Black Rock Harbor, creating two Confined Aquatic Disposal cells, and placing sediment at the Bridgeport Historic Disposal Site.
