Update on Missing Griswold Snowmobiler

On Saturday, December 16, 2017 evening at 6:45 p.m., Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Officers responded to Pachaug Pond in Griswold for a report of a missing snowmobiler. EnCon officers were assisted by Connecticut State Police troopers and K9 units along with nearby fire departments and regional dive teams who searched through the overnight and into Sunday morning for the victim, at which point the search was suspended due to weather conditions. Once weather conditions improve rescuers will resume the search for the missing snowmobiler.
On Monday afternoon, EnCon identified the missing snowmobiler as John Dubois, 56, of Griswold, Connecticut.
As this is an ongoing investigation no further information will be released at this time.
