DEEP headquarters at 79 Elm Street in Hartford is currently closed due to recent water damage impacting multiple areas of the building. We are working to remediate the situation and get the building back open to staff and the public as soon as possible. While the building is closed, Staff continue to work either remotely or in alternate locations. Kevin the Turkey Captured and Relocated

On Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at approximately 1:30 pm Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police Officers at the request of Wethersfield Police safely captured Kevin the Turkey of Wethersfield in the vicinity of Jordan Lane and the Silas Deane Highway. Kevin’s travels through a highly populated area had posed a hazard to himself and others, necessitating his relocation.
Kevin was transported using a National Wild Turkey Federation box to a safe location and released on a Written Promise to Continue eating plenty of roots, bulbs and leaves.
