Nominations for the Connecticut Arts Awards are now open until September 13, 2024. We will be honoring 9 Arts Heroes and 3 Emerging Creatives at the Infinity Hall on April 2, 2025.
Arts Hero Nominations:
The Connecticut Arts Hero Award honors and celebrates Connecticut residents who are doing inspiring things in, for, or through the arts in Connecticut at the Connecticut Arts Awards.
An Arts Hero is a member of the CT arts community who is championing creativity in their community. They are often an unsung hero who is behind the scenes or in the trenches of the work of ensuring that the arts are accessible and appreciated. They are committed to seeing the arts thrive in CT. This award recognizes that the people around them notice and value their contributions.
If you know a special someone who has contributed significantly to the arts in Connecticut, please take a moment to nominate this individual.

Arts Hero Selection Process:
Nominations for Arts Heroes are divvied up by region. Each region’s nominations are reviewed by a diverse committee created by it’s respective District Regional Service Organization. Once the committee reviews all of their region’s applications, selections are made by October 25, 2024. Selected awardees will be notified by the Office of the Arts by November 6, 2024.
Emerging Creative Nominations:
The Emerging Creative Award highlights a breakthrough creative leader who is starting to blossom as an impactful and innovative contributor to the Connecticut arts scene. An Emerging Creative is someone who exhibits commitment and promise in being a leader in the arts community, is a creative engine behind new projects and initiatives, and has a vision for creative life in Connecticut.
We define emerging as:

championing new ideas that are engaging the arts community

Emerging Creative Selection Process:
