Explanation

This bulletin transmits new policies regarding the Administrative Issues chapter: 

  • The Immigration Issues section states the Department’s policy regarding its treatment of undocumented persons who become Department clients. 
  • The Native American Families section states the Department’s policy regarding the application of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), and requirements of notification, jurisdiction, and burdens of proof in cases that meet ICWA’s guidelines.
