This new policy explains that in order to permit children with physical and/or medical disabilities to live in foster and adoptive homes instead of institutions and group homes, the Department may provide funding, within available appropriations, to facilitate modifications to foster or prospective adoptive homes or vehicles to remove barriers that prevent children from participating fully in the family and community.
