A WELL DESERVED 'THANK YOU' TO OUR DCF STAFF
To enable Department staff to telework and support CT's effort to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Academy for Workforce Development partnered with IT and CT- Kind to provide over 460 tablets this past week alone to staff from disciplines across the agency -- part of an overall deployment of 1,800 tablets agency wide. The final push to deploy the tablets ensures that our workforce is fully mobile during this challenging time.
The endeavor is a demonstration of pure dedication, commitment, drive and partnership between the two divisions.

Statement from Valter Borges:
We want to thank Cindy Butterfield (Chief Fiscal Officer) and Eric Nixon (IT Manager) for their leadership and the Information System Team at CO, the CT-KIND Team lead by Julie Flemmig, and the Academy (Tracy Davis and Tim Monahan) for in keeping things running smoothly at CO, while I worked with the helpdesk and remote deployment teams in setting up CJTS and assisting users with Windows 10 and Office 365. Information Systems has been running 4 simultaneous programs: The first was to roll out tablets of which we have rolled out over 1800 so far and will continue to roll out more approximately 2100 in total will be rolled out to (SW, SWS, PS, FASU, RRG, Legal, and ESC) staff. A second program we have been running for the past two months is upgrading everyone to Windows 10 and Office 365. We had a team of 10 individuals visiting offices and assisting people however as of two weeks ago we started doing these migrations remotely and continue to help hundreds of workers including those who are still at the office. So far we have migrated 80% of all staff to windows 10 with approximately 400 remaining mostly in Waterbury, CO, Solnit North, and Solnit South remaining. The third program we have going is our helpdesk who have relocated to CJTS in order to have more space but continue to function 5 days a week from 7-5pm and we have augmented the staff with other IT resources, they have been helping users with Passwords, VPN, Laptop/Desktop issues, Cell phone issues and also assisting the state in setting up CJTS to be used as a makeshift hospital. We have also setup teleconferencing stations at Solnit South and Solnit North so that children in those sites can continue to have tele-conferences with their family. Over the past couple of weeks we have received and closed thousands of tickets and we will continue to provide phone, remote and onsite support. The last program but just as important is our LINK Support and our PCSU support teams have been bolstered by CT-KIND Staff and our Business Analysts to ensure we continue to resolve tickets related to LINK. In the past couple of weeks the team has resolved over 200 tickets.
