2. Post-Scoping Notice for Covey Road Water Main Extension

Municipality where project will be located:  Burlington

CEPA Determination:  On May 5, 2015, the Department of Public Health (DPH) published a Notice of Scoping to solicit public comments for this project in the Environmental Monitor.  

Based on the DPH’s environmental assessment of this project which includes an internal memorandum dated June 4, 2015, comments provided by the DEEP dated June 4, 2015 and the Town of Burlington’s response to DPH’s memorandum dated June 22, 2015, it has been determined that the project does not require the preparation of an Environmental Impact Evaluation (EIE) under CEPA.  The DPH will coordinate with the Town of Burlington to ensure that the recommendations by the DEEP are implemented and will serve as a resource for the Town to utilize when developing mechanisms to protect and preserve the integrity of the valuable natural resources within its boundaries.
