1. Post-Scoping Notice for Improvements on I-84 at Interchange 17; Construction of Chase Parkway Extension, and Operational Improvements on Route 63 and Route 64

Address of Possible Project Location: The project is located off of Interstate 84 (I-84) westbound (WB) at Interchange 17, SR 845 (Chase Parkway), Route 63 and Route 64.  

Municipalities where it would be located: Town of Middlebury and City of Waterbury

CEPA Determination: On May 17, 2016, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) published a Notice of Scoping to solicit public comments for this proposed project in the Environmental Monitor.

Comments from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection were received during the public comment period.  No comments from any other agencies or the public were received.

 The comments are addressed, as needed, within the appropriate section of the Environmental Review Checklist.  After consideration of the comments received, CTDOT has determined: the project does not require the preparation of an Environmental Impact Evaluation (EIE) under the Connecticut Environmental Policy Act (CEPA). CTDOT’s conclusion is documented in a Memo of Findings and Determination and an Environmental Review Checklist.
