Social Media and Digital Literacy
The purpose of the study is to examine the efficacy of in-school cellphone prohibitions and an eight-week digital literacy curriculum social media and technology interventions on adolescent student well-being, learning, and engagement. This mixed methods project uses survey, observation, interview, and audio-diary data from students and teachers to understand how interventions on in school cellphone use and digital literacy influence students and teachers experiences in school. This project involves four middle schools in the state with different types of intervention to better understand how we might best move forward as a state in supporting our students and teachers.
