Legislative Impact onProfessional Development in Connecticut Schools
This study seeks to better understand how legislative mandates on professional development of teachers and administrators in Connecticut have guided district decision making about professional development offerings. This study will engage in a comprehensive review of legislative mandates on professional development in Connecticut over the last 15 years to determine how these mandates have changed. This project will also include interviews and focus groups with district leaders, teachers, and those who support their work to provide insight on how districts plan for and use professional development time and how district responses to legislative mandates on professional development have evolved over the last 15 years.
