Joseph Garibaldi
Executive Director
Joseph Garibaldi earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice Studies from Roger Williams University in 1998. He began his career with the State of Connecticut in 2000 with the Board of Parole as a Parole Officer Trainee. During his career as a Parole Officer he has been assigned to many roles. From 2000-2011 he was assigned to the Hearings Division, covering numerous correctional facilities throughout the state. During that assignment, he administerd parole hearings and completed risk assessments. From 2011-2017 he was assigned to the Interstate Unit.
In April of 2017, Mr. Garibaldi was promoted to Parole & Community Services Supervisor overseeing the Revocation Unit and Interstate Unit. Also in 2017, he was named the Deputy Compact Administrator for the State of Connecticut overseeing all Interstate activities for parole. In August of 2021, he was promoted to Deputy Director of the Board of Pardons & Paroles overseeing all of the daily operations of the agency. On 5/19/23, he was appointed by Chairperson Jennifer Medina Zaccagnini as the Executive Director of the Board of Pardons & Paroles.
