Attorney General William Tong announced today that a Hartford Superior Court judge has ordered a partial reduction in municipal pension payments for Catherine Finkle, who was convicted in federal court in 2021 of stealing over $38,000 in tuition payments she received as the director of the Town of East Haven’s before and after-school childcare program.

Attorney General Tong Announces Court Approval of $150,000 False Claims Settlement With Dentist Over Prohibited Patient Recruiting Fees
Attorney General William Tong today announced a $150,000 false claims settlement with Norwalk dentist Nazneen Jaffri, DDS (“Jaffri”) resolving allegations that she violated state and federal False Claims Act statutes through prohibited fees paid to a “patient recruiting” company. Also today, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut issued judgment against Jaffri for the outstanding balance of the $150,000 settlement.
