• State Joins $125 Million Multistate Antitrust Settlement with Cephalon For Efforts to Delay Provigil Competition

  Attorney General George Jepsen announced today that Connecticut has joined 48 other states and the District of Columbia in a $125 million settlement with biopharmaceutical company Cephalon and its affiliated companies, including Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and Barr Laboratories. The settlement resolves allegations of anticompetitive conduct by Cephalon concerning its drug, Provigil.

  Attorney General George Jepsen said Connecticut has joined with the Federal Trade Commission, 42 states and the District of Columbia in coordinated settlement agreements with Skechers USA, Inc. over allegations of deceptive advertising for certain athletic shoes.

  HARTFORD –Attorney General George Jepsen joined today with attorneys general of 10 other states and the District of Columbia seeking to defend an air emissions rule that would reduce the amount of toxic mercury discharged by electric power plants by 90 percent.

• Attorney General Jepsen to eBook Purchasers: Settlement Credit Notification Process has Begun

  Attorney General Jepsen today advised Connecticut residents who may have purchased certain eBooks that the notice process is underway in a $69 million national settlement with publishers announced earlier this year. Approximately $1.3 million of the settlement will be allotted to Connecticut consumers, if the settlement is approved by the court.
