What services does the Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind offer?

The Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) provides services to legally blind or visually impaired Connecticut residents. These services include:

  • Training and devices that help people with blindness live on their own at home and in the community
  • Helping childrenl earn and adjust at school and daily life
  • Helping people who are blind find jobs
  • Helping people keep their jobs if they lose their vision

Doctor’s online form (Eye Report)

In Connecticut, doctors, advanced practice registered nurses, and eye doctors must report to BESB within 30 days after they begin caring for someone who is blind.
