A variety of communications toolkits are available to assist schools and school districts in explaining the changes necessary to implement Mastery-Based Learning:

Connecticut State Department of Education Toolkit

• Includes an FAQ, implementation guidelines, a brochure, PowerPoint presentations, and more. 

Students at the Center Hub Communications Toolkit

• This online toolkit has three sections: telling a compelling public story, promoting dialogue and engaging young people. A very valuable resource worth exploring. Especially useful is the section on telling a compelling story. This was developed for the Nellie Mae Education Foundation. Visit website

Achieve Mastery-Based Learning Communications Toolkit

• This toolkit developed by Achieve includes a suite of resources to help communicate the value and need for Mastery-Based Learning. The toolkit includes resources on how to message competency-based pathways, exemplars of powerful messages and stories, frequently asked questions, and detailed how-to guides on getting the message right.
