About Us

The State Contracting Standards Board (SCSB) was created as the central oversight and policy body for all state procurement. The Board was established in January 2009, after the 2004 resignation of Governor John Roland resulting from related contracting scandals. Our mission is to require that state contracting and procurement requirements are understood and carried out openly, cost-effectively, efficiently, and consistently with State and Federal statutes, rules, and regulations. The Board, comprised of fourteen members and seven staff, has established two Committees as required by statute and three Work Groups, comprised of both volunteer members of the Board and staff, to accomplish the Board’s mission. The SCSB's Current Organizational Chart graphically illustrates the reporting relationships and evolving structure of its committees and workgroups that continue to propel the work of the SCSB.
