Emergency Response
1GFG Emergency Response Training, August 2008
The four (4) militia units of the Governor’s Guard are comprised of dedicated volunteer members from all careers and walks of life. Each unit has a diverse membership of individuals who bring unique qualifications and talents. They are lawyers, doctors, administrative professionals, firemen, EMT’s, paramedics, teachers, ER nurses, photographers, public relations specialists, graphic designers, engineers, mechanics, CDL truck drivers, veterans from all Military Branches, state marshalls, police officers, chefs, business owners, pilots, and so much more!
These individuals are capable volunteers who choose these missions, not for the pay, or the glory, but simply for their love of patriotism and the pride of continuing the traditions of the many individuals before them.
In the past, the units have trained with the Medical Response Corp logistical unit, mobile field hospital, search and rescue on foot and horseback, and hurricane disaster relief. These units are ready to provide administrative support, logistical support and even security operations if necessary.
