Announcement for New Pistol Permit Applicants Only

 

The State Police Special Licensing and Firearms Unit is pleased to announce the following changes 
at all locations (Middletown-HQ, Troop E-Montville, Troop G- Bridgeport) for new pistol permit 
applicants only:

Starting November 2, 2022, all locations will be open for New Pistol Permit Applicants, no appointment required.

Holiday Closures 2022:

Troop G:

  • Friday, November 25, 2022
  • Saturday, December 24, 2022
  • Tuesday, December 27, 2022
  • Thursday, December 29, 2022
  • Saturday, December 31, 2022

Troop E:

  • Saturday, December 24, 2022
  • Saturday, December 31, 2022 - Partial hours 8:00am - 2:00pm

Please bring the following to obtain your new pistol permit:

  1. Temporary permit;
  2. Proof of citizenship or legal residence in the US;
  3. Photo ID;
  4. $70.00 check or money order (payable to "Treasurer, State of CT") or exact cash.  Middletown (HQ) is the ONLY location that now accepts credit cards (Visa and Mastercard).
No pistol permit renewals will be accepted. Pistol permit renewals will continue
to be processed through the mail.
