The company plans to spend $255 million on the project, where it will create 1,800 jobs at the new facility. The company, which recently opened a fulfillment center in Windsor and a sorting center in Wallingford, currently employs approximately 2,000 people in Connecticut. With the addition of the North Haven facility, that number will increase to approximately 3,800 Connecticut-based employees.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Office of Tourism today announced the results of an economic impact study of the tourism industry in Connecticut, showing total direct and indirect business sales supported by the travel industry reached $14.7 billion in 2015 – a 4.6 percent increase since 2013. The study also shows that tourism employment grew 2 percent since 2013 to reach 82,688 jobs in 2015, the fifth straight year of employment growth.

Malloy today announced that SCA Pharmaceuticals, an Arkansas-based company, has decided to establish a presence in Connecticut through the creation of a new 90,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Windsor, where the company has plans to create approximately 361 new jobs over the next four years. SCA manufactures injectable pharmaceuticals in ready-to-administer dosages for use at hospitals and healthcare facilities. The company helps healthcare facilities increase efficiencies and reduce costs while improving patient care.
