On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Colt’s Manufacturing Company is purchasing its West Hartford headquarters and manufacturing facility and making new investments to expand operations and grow jobs in Connecticut. The acquisition of this property is a key part of the company’s growth strategy and is part of a $23 million project by Colt that targets the retention of its current workforce of 600 employees and will lead to the creation of an additional 100 jobs at the location over the next five years.
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Office of Tourism today announced the results of an economic impact study of the tourism industry in Connecticut, showing total direct and indirect business sales supported by the travel industry reached $14.7 billion in 2015 – a 4.6 percent increase since 2013. The study also shows that tourism employment grew 2 percent since 2013 to reach 82,688 jobs in 2015, the fifth straight year of employment growth.
Gov. Malloy Announces Creation of Hydroponic Farm in Suffield
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Four Season Farm LLC, a newly formed venture created by a long-time Connecticut farmer, international greenhouse developer, and former Wall Street executive, will develop ten acres of land in Suffield as a hydroponic farm, where the company plans to create 40 new jobs over the next two years.
