Norwalk FTD Storage Tank

1. Notice of Scoping for the  Spring Hill Reliability Improvements Project  

Municipalities where proposed project might be locatedNorwalk and New Canaan

Addresses of Possible Project Locations: Grandview Avenue, Reservoir Street, Dover Street, West Dover Street, Rhodonolia Park, Stevens Street, and Magnolia Avenue in Norwalk and Mill Road in New Canaan.

Project Description: Norwalk First Taxing District (NFTD) proposes to construct/install the following components to maintain adequate water supply at the Norwalk Regional Hospital, Paradigm Healthcare Center (150 bed nursing home), DaVita of Norwalk (dialysis center) and several other medical facilities associated with the regional hospital:

1.  A new 1.0 MG elevated storage tank to replace the existing Spring Hill high service area elevated storage tank located adjacent to an existing Spring Hill 3.0 MG storage tank. 

2.  A new Spring Hill Booster Pump Station to replace the existing booster station located adjacent to an existing Spring Hill 3.0 MG storage tank.  The new booster pump station will serve the new 1.0 MG elevated storage tank. 

3.  Approximately 3,600 linear feet of piping improvements to remedy these water supply deficiencies in the Spring Hill high service area.

4.  Replacement of an existing altitude valve that serves the existing Spring Hill 3.0 MG storage tank. 

5.  Spring Hill Site security enhancements

In addition, NFTD proposes to install tank mixing systems for both the existing Spring Hill 3.0 MG storage tank and new 1.0-MG elevated storage tank.

Any person can ask the sponsoring agency to hold a Public Scoping Meeting by sending such a request to the address below.  If a meeting is requested by 25 or more individuals, or by an association that represents 25 or more members, the sponsoring agency shall schedule a Public Scoping Meeting.  Such requests must be made by Friday, January 18, 2013.
