Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS) field offices are closed to the public as of March 18, 2020 as a protective measure for the safety of our staff and the public. Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind

The Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) is the state’s lead Bureau for the coordination and provision of services to all Connecticut residents who are legally blind, or have significant visual impairments. These services include training and devices that help people who are blind function in the home and in the community independently; teaching children how to adapt to and learn in an environment - in and outside of school - that is designed for those with sight and; providing services that help people who are blind find work or keep their job after blindness has developed.

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The State of Connecticut, Department of Aging and Disability Services, Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) will be conducting a public hearing on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. by teleconference. The purpose of the hearing is to offer the public, consumers, advocates, agencies and organizations the opportunity to provide comments pertaining to proposed changes to the Vocational Rehabilitation Program policies that govern the provision of Personal Adjustment Training.  The instructions on how to participate in the public hearing and how to submit comments as well as the proposed policy changes are available for review by following this link.
