Lt. Governor Wyman Statement on Racial Violence in Virginia

(Hartford, CT) – Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman statement on the recent violence in Charlottesville, Virginia:

“I am deeply moved by the strength and tirelessness of all of who have come together to condemn hate groups and the violence they perpetrate. Here in Connecticut and across the country, those who wield burning torches and proudly display the symbols of genocide will be called out for what they are—profoundly ignorant purveyors of hate. Instead of getting a toehold in any community, the country has come together to counter their bigotry and rally around true American values—equality, opportunity, and justice.

My thoughts are with the family and friends of Heather Heyer, Virginia State Police Lieutenant H. Jay Cullen, Virginia State Trooper Berke M.M. Bates, and all of those injured by white supremacists, Klansmen, and other hate-mongers in Charlottesville.”
