Below are some of the key dates.  A full calendar for the special election is available here.

November 17: Judge William Clark entered an order adopting the Secretary of the State’s proposal.  The court ordered that a special democratic primary be held on January 23, 2024.  A general election for Mayor will be held on February 27, 2024, unless all but one of the candidates withdraws by February 1, 2024. 

November 16: The Secretary of the State’s office filed a proposed order with the Court that outlines the date of a new primary and the associated procedures to be followed. The Gomes campaign has concurred and joined with the proposed order. Judge William Clark still must make a decision. At this time, a new date has not been finalized.

November 1: Judge William F. Clark ordered a new primary for the Democratic party nomination for mayor of the city of Bridgeport. The parties are ordered to confer with each other and election officials to determine a new primary date within 10 days. Absent agreement, John Gomes shall file a proposed, supplemental order by November 15, 2023, and any party may respond by November 17, 2023.
